J. Stevens Diamond #43, Savage 1905 rifle and 1917 handgun

Hello all -

Complete firearm ignoramous here... well, not "completely" ignorant, but fairly close. My father has four firearms that he acquired at the passing of his father and has kept these in storage for perhaps 30+ years.

The title above is of three of them but pictures are of all five. Not sure what the fifth is as there's no words on it to identify it.

He is not a gun collector (nor am I) so he's looking to perhaps sell them, but neither of us have a good idea of how to go about determining a fair value.

Here's what I think I know about them from doing some searching:

1) J. Stevens Diamond #43, Ser# 47187
2) Hopkins & Allen XL No. 7, Ser# 1634
3) Savage 1905 Rifle SR & LR
4) Savage 1917 model 32 cal, Ser# 253570
5) I got no idea on this one

Any help on correcting their identification and determining fair value would be greatly appreciated.

I think your last gun is a Japanese type 94 8mm pistol- WW 2. The sear is exposed on the left side of the pistol. Pressing in on the sear will cause the pistol to fire. VERY bad design.

C3 is correct. Type 94. Terrible design. Do you have the mags and holster for it? There is a Type 94 at a local shop in great shape with the orig holster for $350, but it was nickel plated at some point. Oops.

Check around on Gun Broker to see what they are going for.

I've had a couple of the Savage 1917s and they usually bring about $300 in the condition yours looks to be in.

Thanks! Yes, the Type 94 does have the magazine and holster.

Also just found a .22 bolt-action rifle and his deceased brother-in-law's service revolver pictured below. Marked as Dan Wesson Arms 44 Magnum CTG (I think it's CTG). Stainless with 3" barrel. Is there typically a model assocaited with this other than "44 magnum"?

Savage 1905 rifle

Mike I'm very interested in your Savage 1905 rifle they usually sell in the $300 range. New Blue book values them at about $175 in 95% condition. Let me know what you want for it if you put it up for sale. Jeff
