I have an old shotgun, one of very little monetary value and no sentimental value either; however, I was wanting to get it shooting again just because. It is a side x side and the ends of the barrels are a bit dinged up, no sharp edges, just not truly round anymore. I'm sure it'd pass the wad, but I'd like to true them up - who has a trick for that?

Sometimes a person might have a socket in their socket set which happens to be just the right size. The socket is already polished nicely. It is fine that the socket is made out of hardened steel as long as it is polished. You should use a soft hammer though, like a brass, copper, lead, etc.

Deg,
You will have to use caution since the Side by Side Barrels are Soldered together. So work slowly don't get overly aggressive opening them back up! They normally are pretty secure.
Just a thought! ;)
