Is the plastic cased .38 USAC? White case, semi heel seated bullet? Good idea that did not catch on. 2 boxes of 50 up on armslist right now for $50. includes hand loading tool.

Re: 12 CS, have 1 round of the 12g "Ferret" barricade penetrator.

Hey- you never know when a burglar might barricade themselves in the refrigerator......

Oh yeah, the liquid Ferret CS shells.
I thought they may have been ALS, cause ALS usually makes stuff like that. They used to sell to the civilian market, but the ATF made em stop.

Also, whoa, besides the plastic casing, I really like the whole .38 usac concept. Especially the "hand loader" and easy to load bullets. I wonder if anything like that would sell, today? I doubt it, but then again, ya never know (like the judge).

50 BMG Wildcat cartridge, sized down to accept a .308 projectile.
I bet that thing is one hell of a barrel burner. It's probably faster than greased lightning too. :D

Not interested in shipping any(I have several). If you were closer we could certainly do some tradin".
If it's 41 Swiss long I'd do terrible things to get my hands on them :)

my exact thoughts lol

Purely as a gag, fellow at one show had a .50 BMG that was necked to .30, and loaded with a SABOT holding a .25 cal bullet. YOWZAH!

I'd like to see what a round like that would actually do.

How's this one for crazy? 50 BMG necked down to .17. :D

I was just looking into getting one of those, how's it workin for ya?
It's cool and can launch grenades (not live, of course), but I have no blanks to shoot it. Even if I did, I wouldn't launch this one. Maybe a golf ball launcher or some practice grenades. I got it for $15 at a collectors show. I think it's original, but maybe not. I know keepshooting.com sells em.

I almost wanna think the bullet would disintegrate! :D
What if it was made of tungsten or something like that? Would there be any practical use (theoretically) of a 20 grain bullet going the speed of light :D

Well, there HAVE been some ultra-speed loads from conventional firearms. There is a theoretical limit of about 5400 FPS. It maxes out based on the rate of expansion of the gasses that push the bullet. But bullets start flying apart from the spin. Note that the main gun for the Abrams and related tanks, which is VERY fast, is smoothbore- no spin.

We have gotten velocities on the close order of 10k FPS, but that was using explosives to drive the projectiles (the jet from a shaped charge can travel at about 16,000 MILES per hour!) Self forging projectiles, known as Miznay-Schardin effect. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Explosively_formed_penetrator

There was some work being done with very light projectiles made of polycarbonate driven to some insane speeds with a magnetic driver (rail gun) but actual data on that is classified.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe Ackley did some high velocity tests with .50bmg necked to somethin. It sounds similar to the "ultra speed loads" you referenced.

There's no explosives in this pic, it's all plasma!

In the late 2000s, the U.S. Navy tested a railgun that accelerates a 3.2 kg (7 pound) projectile to approximately 2.4 kilometres per second (5,400 mph).
If theses things weren't so F'ing big they would be awesome!
