My daughter bought a SCCY. I do not know which model it was. She told me that it kept jamming. She said she returned it and they gave her another one just like it. She had the same problem with that one. So she got a S&W 9mm. Not sure what model. She told me it was a snappy little pistol. I wonder if is was a limp wristing issue. She shoots the S&W fine. But it is a full sized gun.

No, I wasn't referring to Joe R, but at least two of the Machinists Did leave Kel-Tec to go there,...the size is still similar to the Keltec P-11, if not the internals. I happen to like the model myself, just don't have one. Maybe someday...

The CPX is somewhat unforgiving of poor handling (ie, limp wristing) and will not cycle correctly if it is held incorrectly. Your daughter should have had someone else shoot the CPX and have someone observe her shooting it.

Another thing, SCCY had an unfortunate run of mags where the springs were installed backwards which would have caused jamming. At least that one is an easy fix. By the way, it appears SCCY resolved the mag spring problem (probably showed someone how they go in).

My CPX2 is reliable and has earned its role as a carry gun.

I wish she had called me when she was having trouble. But her dumb a** boyfriend was the one with her. He is a completely worthless ******. She knows it now. They broke up.

My friend the Nurse next door told me ,she "Has to want to shoot it(the SCCY ), but at least she has 11 rounds if trouble shows up. I think she has 2 mags. still learning how to do mag changes...

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum and also new to owning and shooting a firearm. My wife just recently bought me a SCCY CPX-2 (for my birthday) The gun was brand new and I took it to the range for the first time. After about 20 rounds or so through the gun (without any problems) It started failing to extract the brass after firing the round. I would drop the magazine and clear the chamber, reinsert the magazine, load one into the chamber and fire again. It failed to extract the next 5 rounds that I tried to put through it. I was sold American Arms and Ammo Re-manufactured 115 Grain 9mm Luger Ammo from the Gun Range I was at. This is what they recommended for me to use while practicing in the range. I have since sent the gun back to SCCY to have it repaired/fixed. Let me say one thing about SCCY, it took only 4 minutes from the time I called to the time I hung up the phone. The lady took down all my info and emailed me a shipment label. So not only are they fixing it for free, they are paying for all of the shipping costs to send it to them and for them to send it back.

I guess what I am asking is. How do you guys feel about SCCY's CPX-2 Model and do you think the excessive failures to extract could have happened because of the ammo I was using?
hi I have a sccy cpx2TTSB. I took mines to the firing range on yesterday. I have only fired this gun once before practicing yesterday. At the range I fired 10 rounds, put my second clip in and fired 10 more rounds that 20 rounds. I put only 5 in the magazine to finish up my 25 required rounds for my CWP and on the fifith round the trigger spring has broken. Im going to call the manufacturing company. At this point I dont recommend this gun.

Well I have some bad news for you and some good news too. I'll start with the bad news; SCCY shutdown a couple of months ago so not going to have much luck contacting them. (If you do an internet search "did SCCY go out of business"; you can get the scoop).

So now the good news; you can source a trigger spring from Numrich for about $4. Easy replaceable part that you can either do yourself or inexpensive to have done by a professional.

Don't worry the CPX-1 and CPX-2 trigger springs are the same and did not change when they updated the CPX-1.

You can also upgrade with a spring kit from someone like M-CARBO for improved trigger pull

Good luck

As far as not recommending the SCCY; I can understand your feelings but all mechanical devises are subject to random failures. Although while I am not a fan of the SCCY myself, I do own three of them in various configurations and my wife loves them and shoots them very well. The finger groves are mostly what keep me from enjoying them. My hand just does not fit them well and so the gun is uncomfortable for me.
