Stopped in Walmart today and they had ZQI(Zenith Quest International) 5.56 on the shelf for $9.95 box of 30rds.

Never tried it, but comes from Turkey and distributed through ZQI of Virginia.

Website says it's clean burning NATO spec 62gr FMJ ammunition, so I picked up 10 boxes(300rds) to try.

Anybody try it yet? What's your assessment of it.

The box says: "made to Nato specifications and lot tested to assure less than 1-minute of angle @ 100 meters".

I have been thinking about picking some up but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Let us know how you make out with it.

Some of the first ammo I ran through my AR. All I could find at the time. I did not have any problems. The rifle did not seem any dirtier than what I shot when I was active duty.

I've seen the box on the shelf but for some reason I was thinking it was 20 rounds in the box. 30 for $10, I may have to check it out.

Ya its just loose packed in the case. No stripper clips or anything of that nature.

Recently I bought a 420 round ammo box of Federal XM193 for $170 at Walmart. In the steel box were fourteen 30-rd paper boxes (stripper clips). I'll have to look for ZQI 62 grain. I'm curious if it truly is 30-rds for $10, of course every Walmart is different.

Just obviously made in turkey. Shoots just as good as the m855/m193 I have here as well.

I checked my Walmart today and they finally had some ZQI. And it was $9.97 for 30 rounds. Thanks for the tip, Triumphman.

The boxes I got don't give the bullet weight, just a generic description of NATO STANAG 4172 ... Anyway, looks well made. Quite a deal.

And today they actually had .22lr! Remington Golden Bullet box of 225! First time I've seen .22lr in well over a year.

How much was the .22? I saw a price tag that i think said $39 for a box of 550 rounds but they were out of stock and I may have been reading it incorrectly.

If they are the cheap bulk golden bullets it is not worth buying. Now the good Remington ammo is well worth buying.
Now I am going to have to find an excuse to go to WM to check out that 5.56 ammo.

Yeah the price is right. As long as that price holds I'll be picking up more every time it's in stock.

Also went by the sporting goods counter at my wm today and was very pleased to see that they have my zq1 5.56 there for $9.96 a box now as well!
