How about some pictures of your military style rifles not designed by Eugene Stoner. Here's a few of my CETME rifle.

I dont have any, but I think the FAL is a great looking rifle. I would love to get some trigger time with one.

I like the FAL also. Here are a few pictures of my L1A1. CAI screwed up the looks with that butt ugly thumbhole stock. I guess they had to use that stock and lop off the flash suppressor so it could be imported at the time. I may try to find a replacement stock sometime but don't guess there is much I can do about the barrel.

This is one I really like. Its a Daewoo DR200. I'm not sure how many were imported but you just don't see many of them around. Its basically a rifle that uses an AR lower and an AK upper. It was Korea's issue rifle for some period of time. It uses standard AR 5.56 magazines. Like the L1A1 that stock needs to go.

Is it hard to find spare parts for?

That is one of the down sides to the Daewoo. Spare parts are few and far between. It seems to be a pretty solid rifle so unless someone does a heck of a lot of shooting it should run for years to come.

How about a Chinese SKS. I wish I had bought 100 of them when they were selling for $75.

Now a Russian SKS. I like the laminated wood on it better than the Chinese. Also I like the blade bayonet.

I posted pictures of this one in another thread some time back but here it is again because its such a neat rifle. Its a close copy of the Swedish AG-42 or Ljungman. Its chambered for the 7.92 x 57 Mauser. If this rifle is not handled correctly it will not only give you a case of Garand thumb, it will pretty much take your thumb off.

    Mas 49/56

This one has been converted to .308. I wish I had wait and found one not converted but it is what it is. Yes I have a MAS 36 to keep it company. The French know how to make an ugly gun.

    Polytech M14S

Like most things on the internet, opinions of this rifle is all over the board. I read that the receiver is closer to milspec than SA M1A's but the bolt is too soft. Others say they have had the bolts tested and the hardness is just fine. I don't know what the facts are but I doubt I'll shot it enough for it to be a problem either way. If I was going to shoot it much I would replace the bolt or at least have the headspace checked from time to time. The bore is chromed which is a plus and the receiver is supposed to be made from recycled railroad track rails so very hard. I do know I paid a fraction of what a M1A would have cost and the prices being asked for them now is 3 times what I paid or more. I have had several people try to talk me out of it but its still in the vault.

Yes, the French are good at ugly guns. And cars, like the Citroen deux chevaux.
And the Jap guns would not take a beauty prize either.

Actually I never thought the Nambu or the Arisaka looked all that bad. The Nambu is kinda Lugarish or Buck Rogerish. You can see the ruger MK I, II and III in it.

I don't know if this model was ever used in the military but probably one close.
