I am quite a bit more pessimistic.

The forces of evil have announced that they will put under the NFA any tactical rifle and any magazine over 10 rounds.
Whioch means every magazine over ten round will be a 200 dollar tax stamp and you will have to wait months for permission.
This will throttle demand to the point of putting most LGS out of business the way it is happening in Canada right now.

Imagine a $280 hand gun like a Taurus G3 suddenly requiring 600 USD in taxes for its 3 regular cap mags.

Those of us who hold large numbers in mags would be expected to pay tend of thousands of dollars to the ATF.

That these "laws" will be unconstitutional will be meaningless because the left will just exapand the supreme court by several additional judges which it will appoint itself.
Since the Biden campaign has also said it will make all illegals legal and give them a vote we will have a socialist totalitarian system in perpetuity.

So in summary the LGSs have a chance of being legislated or decreed out of existence come next January. :(

    I, too, am pessimistic.

I'm certain about what the destroyers of liberty and the Constitution are after, though: power, and remaking "civilization," even at the destruction of everything.

Nothing else can explain their hatred of a well-armed, particularly a heavily-armed, citizenry. It's the one thing keeping them from controlling everything. 'Cause, in the end, a person being screwed right up the backside generally won't take it willingly or quietly. If well-armed, he's at least got a chance to say "Hell, no! Not while I'm still standing."

They're coming. And they won't stop.

I'm so "pessimistic" (certain) as to believe it's an inevitable violent, forcible battle to be brought upon such people. Because normal means don't faze them a bit. They won't stop until they're erased from public roles, possibly erased from our midst. They're going to push it that far, I believe. Even if they don't see it yet.

Honestly, I think that is what many are sensing. That this is a run-up to such willful destruction of the rule of law ... and that those destroyers are coming for the people.

And, so, gun shops of all sorts are likely to continue doing extremely high levels of business. At least, until the destroyers get their hands wrapped around the throats of such operations.

Went to my lgs yesterday, what a joke. People were buying AR’s the second they hit the shelf. They had knives where revolvers used to sit, no m&p’s, 3 glocks, no sigs, 2 FN’s which was a disappointment since I was going there to look for a fns9. Asked about ordering a pws 300blk upper, got a solid no on that. People have gone crazy

Local gun shops are out of everything. I looked into the Academy store they had a few boxes of .270, .243 & 30-06 but the rest of the shelves were bare.
I was in the area yesterday & just stopped in to see if things were bad everywhere into a Bass Pro Shop in Clarksville IN. Figuring that with their buying power they should have something, they had odds & ends. I ask if the had any reloading powder they said no, did they have any primers?? They said they had it behind the gun sales counter. I ask how much they had, they had two bricks of Winchester small rifle, they wanted $40+ each brick. I passed, I'm not out yet & it's not the brand I normally use.

My LGS seams to be doing fine stock wise for a little shop. He has around 50 new hand guns. Under 20 new long though. Used inventory way down. But he's not getting a lot of trades. His site is having some issues it seams now. But here it is. Prices have gone up though.

Went to one of the local gun shops today, other one was closed for some reason.... i walked in and he was marking a case of 45 ACP, I grabbed my 2 box limit ($20 per 50). He didn’t have any 380,9mm, 357 or 38 special. He did have a couple cases of 38 super ($16 per 50). Supply of handguns were good, a little less than he usually has but that’s to be expected, long gun supply was good

Yeah no kidding, I passed on that. They only had a few boxes anyway. I saw it when I went to go buy some more 5.56. I'll say one thing, at least their not price gouging 5.56 thank god. I bought 60 rounds for $30 from a bigger LGS that's a little further away from me about a week ago. And again 60 for $30 from this closer one where their price gouging the 9mm just 3 days ago. And they only had a few 5.56 left on hand.

But $30 for 60 5.56 rounds is hard to find now a days and they get snatched up overnight. When I got my AR a few weeks ago. I bought 3 PMC of 5.56 at $10 a box and 50 Hornady at $20. Again, those are damn good deals, I went back to buy some more in a few days and they were all gone lol. But I needed to stock up on some more of it anyway with this new AR of mine, which thank god I bought another 120 just recently.

I will say one more thing, I was never a gun owner prior to this pandemic (well I mean I was and still am but I mean, as a gun owner I've never been through a pandemic where people panic buy like crazy until now) and so I've never really bought into the "Buy it cheap, Stack it deep" thing. I just buy ammo as I shoot.

Well that was a kick in the ballz when it hit, my LGS usually has 4 shelves stocked with ammo. I walked into that gun store as a gun owner myself who has never been through a pandemic and holy crap! All 4 shelves were EMPTY! I have never seen something like that. Barely any guns for sale, and you can forget about the ammo lol. During this time I was low on 9mm and they only had like 3 100 round boxes for $40 a piece.

Normally its $10 for 50, at this LGS. At the other bigger gun store, its $14 for 50. I like those prices. I bought from PSA I think 2 weeks ago $17 for 50 of 9mm which I'm good with when its very good high quality ammo. And 3 of .223 at $11 a box, again not bad and those prices are hard to find right now. Just like when I just spent $60 for 120 of 5.56, that's like $9 something a box. That's usually what I payed during normal times. Again, those kind of deals are very hard to find right now and when you do, they have so very few left or they'll price gouge it for people who are really desperate and they will still pay.

But when this pandemic first hit, and people were panic buying like crazy and it got really bad. Well I was one of those desperate people and I did end up buying one of those boxes of 100 of 9mm for $40. During normal times, $10 for 50 rounds and $20 for 100. My other bigger gun store, $14 for 50 or $30 for 100. And I paid $3 more for the 9mm from PSA, but its really good quality brass so I'm happy with it. But I did feel kinda bad for buying 100 of 9mm for $40 later on because I just paid $10 more because of this pandemic. Its not that terrible lol, I mean I feel better now that I'm so well stocked up on all ammo that I'm good for another pandemic. Like I'm not kidding lol, I did an ammo count just a few days ago and some more organizing today with my ammo boxes, I'm to a point where I need more ammo boxes then I do ammo now lol. :D

But now with guns and ammo being so difficult to find right now, it was either $10 extra for ammo or good luck finding any later on kinda of thing. So whatever, a couple bucks more, but now its worse with finding ammo. So at least, I'm really solid on my part. :)

You just have to be patient, it might take a little while to even out. When prices and availability improves, stock up

I been a gun owner since i was 12 years old. Mostly hunting only. Stated getting into target shooting late 90's Mostly 22 then. Got into shooting every thing the past 5 years. Been though the last panic. I had enough ammo to shoot occasionally. I had a few cartons of the 10.00 22 bricks left. I started reloading a few years ago. And i bought a brick or 2 a week of 22 ammo since it loosened back up. Some of my buddies asked why so much? I tell em for the panic. Well it's here and who is bugging me to load for them now and sell some 22's! I just wanted to stock a little deeper with primers while the getting was good. Im set now to roll through the election and if Biden gets in for awhile.

Speaking of the election, not trying to turn this into a political discussion or anything. But you guys think ammo sales are gonna be better or worse before or after the election?

I hit a large privately owned store a few days ago. It's a nice place with an indoor bow range. Long guns and pistols were near full capacity. Ammo was 30% stocked. Scopes maybe 50%.

I think it's going to last a good long while, given such a severe backlog (for all the right reasons). Whichever way people check the box, in November.

Too many newbies getting their minds right. Too many people arming-up. Too many realizing what this lunacy might well come to, if the "progressive" mindless mob gets its way. Too many people doubling their ammo stash.

And, even if the destroyers get their way and seemingly get approval to seriously hamstring crime control in towns and cities, the citizens are largely going to take up the slack, as much as they're able.

It's about time, I'd say. Good. For everyone who's arming-up.

Here is my opinion on the panic buying. I think when the protest and riots stop. It will slow down some. Then when covid gets under control it will calm more. And if Trump wins. After the holidays things will return to normal. If Biden wins were in for a ride.
