So I got bored last night and decided to polish the barrel on my xds.
How did you do it?
Soaked the barrel in vinegar for a couple hours, then rubbed it with a green scotch brite pad, gave it a quick polish then hit it quick with 1000 grit paper, a quick polish then hit it with 2000 grit and then a good polish. Pictures dont really do it justice.
Anyone ever change the sights out on your XD at home or is this best left to a gunsmith??
I personally haven't done it. You would need a sight press to do it correctly. Really depends on if you want to invest in the proper tools.
Not that it's surprising or anything, but quite a few 2013 SHOT videos up of the XDs 9mm.
Looks nice! Does that add or decrease to the functionality of the barrel in any way or is it strictly for looks?
Looks nice but it removes the rust preventive finish.
True. But I am one of those that takes good care of my firearms so not overly concerned about rust.
wanted an XDs since I read the articles in NRA's magazine last spring. Got one from Santa for Christmas. Love it!
I'm considering an XD9mm for my wife. Need to find one for her to try out.
Just a question how long have u had that Springfield?
The 9mm isn't coming out for a couple months, it was just released at SHOT show
Why do you ask??
I'll ask too, how long have you had it? Just cuz I'm curious.
Got it in September used. The previous owner didn't care for the recoil.
Too much recoil or what?
Just wondering I am considering getting me one.
I don't think so. It's very manageable recoil. Your probably not going to want to shoot it all day, but again very manageable.
