    Free,

No I have not. And honestly I do not see why anyone would want to shoot +Ps through their Springfield XDS. The reason there are other defense loads that are probably better than any +Ps produced. Like the Hornady Critical Defense, Gold Dot and other. Not to mention the recoil of a hotter load in the XDS which has a considerable amount anyway. I guess with the other selections of good ammunition available I can not see any need to shoot +Ps through the little gun that was designed to be a relatively close combat or close protection CCW weapon. In addition it would subject the pistol to what I believe is unneccessary wear factors on top of the above mentioned. Only my thoughts!

I used up an old box of remington golden sabers in mine they functioned fine and recoil wasn't bad. I do agree though there is really no need for them in this pistol

Agreed! Why push +p through a very good standard caliber?? Makes no sense to me!!

I can see doing it in moderation but not taking it to the range and putting 100 + rounds through it. I use +P Liberty Ammo but only as my self defense ammo. :D

I have shot some 185 +p golden sabers. Again used as SD ammo and only checking functionality. Honestly I couldn't tell a huge difference between that +p and the 230 I shoot regularly.

Been a good while since I shot any of my 45's, but Hornady used to make a 200Gr. +P round,..I think it was called the Inspector or something "In." Holder Sabers are the Most Expensive SD Ammo on the counter...plenty of less expensive options that work just as well.....I do have some in 38/357 & 9MM....you should see what they do to Pumpkins and Melons..

Never had the need for +p ammo in my XD45. I load my own and I like and the gun likes the load I have worked up. So I figure if it works good why mess with it. ( 230 grain Hornady XTP over 5.2 gr. of Winchester 231 ) There may be better loads, but I'm happy.

    I reserve +P rounds for full-framed duty-type guns.

My XDm45 stays topped off with a few rounds 165gr +P PowR'ball. And I keep a couple 9mms loaded with some hotter 115gr and 127gr +P+ ammo. But in a subcompact, it just doesn't seem sensible to me. It would benefit neither the gun nor the shooter.

I got some Hornaday +P ammo in a trade and fired a mag w every other round +P just cause it didn't cost me anything, it did well but since I got my XDs back I haven't had a malfunction free range trip. Really sux cause I love that little hand cannon.

I was worried about that. That's why I never sent mine in. Me and my wife are the only ones who shoot it so I don't see a problem since we are both experienced

I need to call Springfield but I have a feeling they'll blame it on me for polishing the barrel lug and extractor. I regret sending it in

    Interesting.

I have an early XDs45 that's run like a top. Didn't send it back because I have no complaints or issues to speak of. I guess I figured if it ain't broke, why 'fix' a successful gun? I like carrying it and have encountered zero problems, so...

I can honestly say I never had any issues before sending mine in for the recall... or any noticeable difference after... other then getting a free mag..

I would not use +p in my auto's, but I believe they function good in large revolvers, but thats me.

This is the reason for the recall and it is a flaw, so technically it is "broke" if you own one of the ones within the serial numbers recalled and whether you have had a problem or not it's your choice on returning it.

Yes I own one and sent it in for repair and pretty much agree with Eagle on the no + p in this weapon.

I did send some +p down range in my XDs 45. Every shot physically hurt my hand. Those were ranger xt's and they hurt like hell compared to standard loads. Remember there is no standard for +p so 1 brands may be no better than regular factory loads.
