What is the main difference between the XDs and a sub compact XD as far as concealed carry goes? In my research I do understand that the XDs is single stack, but why is getting such great conceal reviews compared to an XD sub compact? Thanks

It's getting so much praise because it's single stack and only 1" wide so it's super concealable. I think the main factor is that it's a TINY .45. I have the XD-S and I love it. It's my third XD pistol and by far my favorite. I've owned the 4" versions of the XD in .40 and .45. While a 13+1 .45 was cool, it wasn't the easiest to conceal.

Also the trigger engages at a better point than the XD (The XD requires a very long pull). and the grip is better imo (minor). But yes, mostly the thinness.

I own the xd 40 sub compact and the xds... and have carried both... the xds is much easier to conceal and very comfortable... the slight difference in width makes a lot of difference in concealed carry... IMO
