So here's the deal. I recently purchased a used Springfield XD Tactical 9mm for $499. It came with 2mags, mag holster, speed loader and a gun holster. Problem is they put a .40s&w mag instead of a 9mm. They have not been able to replace the mag and I am becoming frustrated. They have offered $20 to cover the cost of the mag or a full refund. Problem is I can't find mags anywhere besides Springfield Armory's website and they cost around $40 with shipping. Am I getting a bad deal or am I just making too much of it? Advice anyone? Thanks for listening.

I would show the seller what you have found out and ask for the $40 plus shipping with the agreement to give them back the .40 S&W mag. What can you lose by asking?

Worst comes to worst you sell the mag on gunbroker for close to full price. Just write "hi-cap ban coming" and someone will pay for it guaranteed :(

Also, there's someone out there who used to have a 9 but now has a 40. Your seller should do the right thing. If not, there are other avenues...

What other avenues are you thinking about?........

Not that they are going to be less expensive or easier to find, but MecGar also makes full capacity mags for the XD series. They are every bit as good as factory and hold 18 rounds. FWIW I have seen then come up for sale more often than factory mags.

I would ask for at least a $30-40 refund. Then try and find someone with an XD40 that wants to make a trade. Even if you have to throw in $10-20 to make the deal you will be money ahead.
