Every September my little town has a WWII re-enactment. I was able to get a couple pics. More are at my photobucket. It was a good time, my 4 year old son had a blast. Turns out the "Tiger" was actually a Russian tank that was modified to look like a Tiger and was used in Saving Private Ryan.

Now that looks like fun. That tracked motorcycle is as cool as grits.

It would be greater if your town can get the lengendary Louis Zamperini, a hero many times over, whose life and conquest is evidenced in award-winning book: UNBROKEN by Laura Hillenbrand.

I'm waiting to get that book from my library. What I want to know is how these guys are able to get around Illinois ban on full autos, they were clearly firing full auto (blanks of course). Is there some kind of exemption for historical re-enactors?

Frequently the full auto "firearms" you see shooting blanks are actually not firearms in the lagal sense of the word. Designed to fire only blank ammo, cannot chamber of fire ball ammo.

Armed Forces Day in Honolulu- all of the reenactors were carrying replica firearms due to Hawai'ian law. Had folks from pre-settlement native Hawai'ian forces up thru Vietnam. Really like the bagpipers- only in Hawai'i do you have a piper in full kilts and regalia whose name is Nakamura!

I figured it had to be something like that. Imagine the total value of that many full autos in place.
