Guys we are down to a total possible of 5 WWI vets in the ENTIRE world. I say this because we just lost 2 in the last few weeks.

Please say a prayer for them and wish them well.

Bless them for serving, surviving and living since then. They've been through everything, if someone ever has "lived through everything".

War, Depression, Segregation, Hippie years, Bad politic choices etc.

    This Administration??

You got a point, Even. My Dad was a WWII Navy Vet. He has been gone from us for 11 years now. I know for sure, that with what's going on now, with our Govt., his attitude toward life would be VERY negative. Not many of the old war HEROS left.:(

The Egyptians of old had this belief that as long as somebody knew/spoke your name or it was written somewhere that your spirit didn't really die; they were an odd lot, but i agree with their sentiment. Remember what the Soldiers of WW1 did for this country & several others, and they will never really go away.

Not just the Egyptians. From "Ode to Remembrance", 1914

They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
    We will remember them.

And I WILL remember my brothers......
