can't afford a Winchester... So likely a Marlin or Rossi
Looking for blued, not stainless
If it's a gun mostly for shooting at the range, I'd get the Marlin 1894 Cowboy.
If it's for the woods, I'd get the 1894 standard carbine.
Range use... Will look into differences
A nice set of peep sights would be great on whatever you get too. They work way better than buckhorns for me.
dont forget about Henry and Uberti. Good rifles.
Oh yeah, towboater is right. I'd consider a Uberti too! Although some of them are in Winchester range as far as price.
I would buy the Marlin for twice the price of a Rossi. I recently went to buy one of them in .45 Colt, it was a rough-edged turd. I can't imagine polishing it enough to make me happy with it.
Joke'em, says I.
Would consider a Henry but want side loader vs tube loader
The Uberti is too expensive for a range gun only
I like both my Marlin s .
If you don't want two... I can drive over and make a deal for one!
I don't think $6 will cover it . lol
Going hunting at lunch... Looking at LGSs for a lever .357
