Is now approximately $1.00 per bullet. Ridiculous!!!

I thank God, I bought in bulk 8/2012.

I feel ya on that one. Suppliers are gouging the gun owners. Not to mention ammo hoarders buying up ammo to sit on a shelf.

Was that in anticipation of the upcoming election and unease, a late tax refund, a particular bargain you found, or what?

The prices have gotten crazy, I'm trying to stick to my .50 cent limit but even that is almost impossible now.

We were just talking about getting into reloading at the range yesterday. I'm not a fan, but if it stays like this I might have to if I'm going to be able to continue shooting every week.

It was in responds to Aurora/bday present to myself. Hell, it seems as though it was a great bargain compared to now. $359 per 1k brass ammo compared to $919 per 1k.

My range time has truly vanished. I can't afford or FIND ammo. My preferred plinking round 22lr has gone the way of cheap gas.

Wait it out. Ammo is slowly starting to come down and become more available. Check gunbot.com.

If you dont have a reserve built up yeah go ahead and buy what you can what when you can. If the zombies do come I think what I have will last me till its either over or Im dead. That being said Im not going to the range very offten anymore. I do wish I had more in reserve but I think what I do have will be enough.

Finding ammo is becoming a full time job! .22 pricing is just laughable right now, and it seems like everything else is insane. I don't think anyone can afford to go out and blow $70 or more shooting a couple of boxes of pistol ammo. Even .38's are in the same range now.

I keep hearing how its getting better, but I'm not seeing it. I stopped by a Sporting goods shop upstate while taking a ride in the mountains and the guy said he had .22 at $10. A box. A box of 50! What is going on?

They may not ban all of our guns but they will price us out of the sport it seems.

I have been successful at finding ammo at decent prices but it takes time, timing, and work! The big thing is to set a per round Max for yourself (mine are .44 cents per40 cal. round and .09 cents per 22 cal. round) and shop until you find it. I have picked up 500 rounds of 40 in three last three Weeks and 200 rounds of 22 in the last week...all from diff. Shops on diff. Days. The most I bought in one place was 200 rounds of 40 at a Walmart. You can find it..just have to keep looking.

I've been able to buy 40sw at under .35 cents a round at both Walmart and Academy Sports. I just call first thing to the morning and make sure I get to the store before lunch brake. After that all you can find is an empty shelf. I even purchase some 9mm from Walmart at 10.47 per 50 round box.

Unfortunately, reloading gear and components have gotten as scarce as loaded ammo these days. :(
