i found these in with window parts and old door knobs.
It sure is pretty. Your dad sounds a lot like Norm Abrams.
maybe a coat hanger or hat hanger?
no. too small. it sorta looks like a window stop or latch.
That's what I was thinking.
Ditto that , there's a notch and looks like a locking devise.!
Hook of a decorative hook and eye latch?
yep, expensive window stop......... my uncle made his out of wood, lol ...
where on the sill does a window stop go? btw, the arm on the item is stationary, it doesnt swivel.
It looks to me that it should swivel, maybe its just stuck. If it is a window stop, its set just inside the window and set at the hight you would want the window to be opened. It will only turn 90 degrees...............
It's a crank to open a shade for a window, or to open the window itself.
no cranking action to it.
does this go outside for push out windows or pull in?
I believe this is it. I think it's a 'stop' to opening a window only so far. That is, a double hung window.
i'll look closer.
If it swivels. This would have been used on old wooden type windows. From what I can see of the one pic, it would have gone on the rightside of the window frame..............Up and down......
