ive seen these in use before but just cant place it. can you?
i remember seeing some of those hanging in my grandparents garage many years ago, but have no idea.
That is a "P" clamp used to support aerial telephone wires from the pole to the house.

Here is the one on my house. You place the wire in the tray then lay the top over it and pull the loop tight.

painted in 1969.
dad got tired of painting his house so he added the soffit. it gave the clapboards about about another 30 years of life.
Mine is just ten years old. I bought it like that.
