huge springs.....but what for?
Jolly green giants clothespin.
The wood has obviously long since decayed.
Seat springs for bicycle or motorcycle?
Industrial sized mouse trap?
Looks like a spring for a large rodent trap. Rats maybe or even larger ..... my father has a trap with that same spring on it. The wood part is probably two feet long by one foot wide.
remember, dad was a carpenter.
so im going to guess something to do with a gate?
I've seen these I just can't remember where? or what they are?
I agree Bobski , an assist for a heavy door..! Horizontal lifting up..?
in order to put it to rest, if anyone can find a pic of one in use.....thatll settle any doubts.
have we stumped the chumps?
Are those rollers on the flat end away from the springs?
thye dont roll. more of a skid surface to protect whatever goes in there.
I'm thinkin' The stumped chump posted the picture? LOL jkg.
its stumped me for 10 years!
I don't like being stumped Bobski,i've searched all types of U-shaped torsion springs on the web....I still haven't found that spring on the internet?
I need to show the picture to my Dad who is 71 and spent his whole life in const.and a avid auction goer,i'm sure he knows what these are.I've seen them I just can't place where or what they were used for?
