found bunch of these with furniture stuff.
Possibly a hanger for a shelf or shelf bracket? looks like the tab from a shelf would fit in the slot, drop down to lock.
Looks like some sort of quick attach system for furniture/cabinetry.
There were lots of things like those marketed in the 60's that never caught on.

ive been doing this for over 10 years. it started over on the evil green forum... that kicked me off for suggesting they get rid of their truck racing team instead of raising seller fees.
It look like it may be the hardware for attaching bed rails to the post.
