I have a model 94 that is sheering off bits of brass when I chamber around. Has anyone else experienced this?

Sounds like a burr on the edge of the chamber. You could likely feel it with your finger.

    It's right under "30-30"

Oh, that looks like the extractor is doing it.

That is the extractor. The question is is it doing it when chambering or when extracting the round?

I am almost certain it's happening as it chambers

    A couple of things-
Could be debris under the extractor so it is just barely catching the rim of the cartridge, that could conceivably cause that mark.
Extractor could be broken or screwed-up where it contacts the cartridge rim.

I appreciate the input. I just dropped it off at the gunsmith to get looked over. Thanks
