I took this gun to the range a few weeks ago and could not figure out why it was not firing. After disassembling and cleaning this and figuring out how everything worked I could tell that the firing pin wasn't catching every time. It's a semi-auto and would catch every now and then and it would catch every time if I manually pulled the bolt back and wiggled it some. After this happened I took it further apart and figured out why it wasn't catching. The metal piece above the bolt in the picture is worn down where it would catch the firing pin and hold it back. Does this sound like it would be the problem or could it be something else too. Also, what is the metal piece called? I have heard it called a sear and from the site that I am ordering from it only has the name of the piece and not a picture so I do not want to order the wrong part.

That looks like an extractor to me.

yes that part is the sear and it IS most likely the part causing the trouble
