    Hello gentlemen,
I just purchased a model 37 single shot 16 gauge. Does anyone know what the measurements are that differeniate the years? I've heard that the lever that opens the breach is different with certian years. Any help is appreciated.

Measurements? Like barrel length? What measurements are you looking for?

Are you talking about comparing the 37 to the 37A?

I heard that the width of the lever that opens the breech was Changed between 1936 and 137 and between 1937 and 1939

I believe the early ones were stamped "Winchester" on the bottom of the action.

And the actual 37 is worth quite a bit more than the others

Probably depends on condition, I only gave 30 bucks for the one I pictured, it has a chip out of the stock & no butt plate

No if you have a original 37 and a 37a or a 370 all in the same condition the 37 will be worth more I'm not sure of the worth off the top of my head I will look when I get home and let you know

pictures should be up soon. I saw it at the gun show in placerville, ca for 85 bucks. It was owned by a pawn shop so i was able to talk the guy down to 75. He also had the matching 12 but it was being purchased at the time I saw it. gun felt right, had a little slack in the hinge when the breach was broken open and theres no blueing left but it felt pretty solid.

I have the 37a in 28 gauge. Going to try and get rid of it at the next gun show in town.

Why would you want to get rid of it?
