What type of ammo works best this type of semi auto or does it make a difference. I use standard federal 150gr.

Any standard ammo should work. Keep in mind the Model 100 is a fairly delicate action and is considered "obsolete". Not easy to work on and parts are not exactly easily avaiable. Probably time to start thinking about a new rifle.

What he said right there ^^^. The Federal 150 would be a good round. Be sure to clean the gas system on your 100 after shooting- and has yours had the firing pin recall service performed?

I have gad no issues with the rifle-gas system has just been cleaned after 30 years of crude in there. Took it to the range, no problems. Firing pin was changed and as far as getting another rifle, my dad had it since 1961 whats another 50 years on my winchester. :)

Ohi, I am not saying "sell it". I am saying keep it as a family heirloom and shoot occasionally, but relegate the "heavy lifting" to something les prone to breakage and with better parts availability.

Don't use any "Light Magnum" or "Superformance" loads in it. Otherwise go out and shoot it.
