I just got a Winchester 9422 and I was just wondering if it is a pre 64? The start of the serial number is f243
Winchester 9422 per 64 or not

Sorry to disappoint you but they started making them in 1972. I was working at the local gun shop in Marietta, OH when we received our first shipment. Great little gun!

Depends on whether the serial # is a 5 digit or 6 digit. f243xx was made in 1972 and f243xxx was made in 1975. If you call Winchester they should be able to tell you more: 800-333-3288 or 801-876-2711.
