I have a Winchester model 94 30-30 and the lever seems to get stick half way through when you cock it. To get it to chamber you really have to run the lever hard. Any ideas on why it's doing that?

When you cock it, the bolt cocks the hammer, which does take some force. cock the hammer then cycle the lever to see if it is easier.

If you are sure all the parts are there and undamaged, try a lot of oil on all the moving parts where they contact the other parts. Then work it well, (with no ammo,) slow and easy making sure nothing is broken or whatnot.

Every 6 months or so, I'll oil my Win94 very heavily. I'll wipe it down before use, as well as make sure there is no oil in the barrel or chamber before shooting.

You may also check the screws and see if they are tight.
