I am just a regular guy who likes guns and every where I look the 5.56 and 300 Blackout is gone. I just gotta know will this every change or am I doomed to spend more than I can afford unless I reload.

    Yes, it will end.

This time around, maybe my RL friends will listen to me, and we'll all go in together and buy some good reloading equipment.

"You're being paranoid" they said when I said "High prices are coming!"

Really? We are less than 2 months into a panic run and already "when will it end"??? Where were you in 08? That lasted 2 years. Yes there is a shortage because people are buying way more that they will ever use. This too will pass.

I'm agreeing with that 100% robocop10mm. I remember the Y2K spook and how many people came up short on bill paying day because they over did it stocking up their hidey-hole at home. I think this one has some kick behind it and we'll see shortages for quite awhile mainly because I think there's quite a few who haven't bought up all they think they need who'll keep this craze going for some time.

    Ride it out....

I never buy more ammo than I can carry. If SHTF you can't hide in your house forever, remember Waco, they burned that building down to the ground. Mobile is the way to go.

It could end very badly if the Govt decides that gun control includes ammo sales.

Rumors spreading like Wild Fire that, once again, Wal-Mart is going to stop selling ammo.

Of course, a simple google search shows identical predictions from 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010 ... and those never came to fruition.

Though, it is troubling that this time around, Biden is telling the American public that Obama will seek Wal-mart to get on board

It seems I'm always a day late and a dollar short. Never figured to need more than 500 rounds on hand... seems I was wrong. Down to about 100 and none to be found. Also waited too long to apply for my C&R, don't have it yet and everything I was looking at is sold out. This really sucks!

Yep it does suck indeed !I had seen the writing on the wall and got a Lee master loader a few months back , along with 1000 hulls , 8pds of H335 and a thousand primers . I already had 1200 military rounds and I have a orderd another 2000 primers and 8pds of powder and I'm still worried about running out . I haven't checked on the availability of a reloader now , but I guess it's like trying to find primers or anything else for that matter , nonexistent . A desert

So what is the company side of the ammo shortage are they still making it or what? Feels like nothing new is showing up.

Pulled this from www.shtfplan.com comments onthe following article:

    http://www.shtfplan.com/headline-ne...n-take-that-dont-require-legislation_01142013

Here are some of the comments on what was going on in the gun shows:

Comment 1 - Gun show was insane this weekend.

    AR $3200 Each Private Sale
Crap AKs $1000 each Private Sale
    Crap AR Mags $30 each
    308 mags $100 Each
Glocks $1000 Each Private Sale One person bought 5
    XD $1200 Each Private Sale
Saiga 12 GA $2500 Sat. $3000 Sun Private Sale
    10/22 $400 Each Private Sale.

Ammo Sold out at 11AM There was still a 1000 person line when all ammo sold out.
Food Guy Ran out of a semi full Sat
Medical guy sold many expensive thing he keeps around for the pros. When I got there all gone all of it.

FLL were still selling like crazy too. one was doing 15 an hour One guy shop.

And in all the long line not one chair was throw. No bad word to each other. No kids left in the car. And in the end everyone left with a smile for being there.

But not because why we were there.

Comment 2 - how was availability of pistol rounds?
    10/22
    9mm
    40 cal

drier than the Maine desert here in Massachusetts..

Reply to Comment 2 - Most of those were gone by 9am.

Comment 3 - Thanks for the NW-area update.
Saw the same thing here in the Eastern South this past week end.

Prices were somewhat lower, but still high.

TULA & Brown Bear ammo 7.62x39FMJ was $200(+ tax) per 500rds(lowest price, some dealers were higher)…$405 for 1k rounds.

    PMC/Aquila/Sellier & Bellot mfgr. 55gr/.223FMJ re-loadable/brass case, was $300-325 for 500rds…$605 & up for 1k rounds.

Decent MAK-90s were going for $850-950…& bare bones/straight-stick Bushmaster AR-15s were fetching $1250.00 plus!

    Insanity!!!!

    While at the show……….

Struck up a conversation with a Neurosurgeon from Charlotte N.C.(hell I didn’t know what he was at the time)…I bought a case of ammo & he was right behind me & had a collapsible kick-kart in hand….he purchased 7 cases(7000rds) of .223 & 1000rds of 230gr/FMJ .45ACP…..I was headed out to the parking lot, as was he…..we loaded my case onto his cart & off we went…discussing events along the way.

I helped him off-load his booty into a killer SUV…we exchanged business cards(as his medical employer had worked on my back, a few years ago & he personally knew my saw-bones).

He lives in a SOLID gated community(high end place)….I live in the sticks/woods.

We talked for quite a bit, discussing current events…& I’ll never forget his parting words. He said… -(quote)-:….

…”I think, this time…its for real”!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Learn to reload and cast bullets. Instead of running around in a panic you can take snooze.:)

In my area, reloading supplies and/or equipment is nearly gone!

No powder, primer, bullets or even casings. I talked to one guy who drove from Colorado for reloading supplies.

Just another thought...I was listening to a talk show and an active duty Marine called in and said that at a base he was training at in a ammo dump there was over 2 million rounds of 5.56 and 9mm where not long ago there was none. The host stated that there were confirmed reports of billions of rounds getting stock piled by the government. Now a person can come to any number of conclusions if this is all true. I understand that US ammo manufacturers are obligated to fill government contracts before making ammo for the rest of us. Could this be where most of the ammo is going? I sure am not getting any warm fuzzies about this whole mess.
