A friend of mine recently purchased a early 80s Stainless Python 6". The original box is missing and it is a low rounds count shooter. The original owner was less than diligent in his handling of it. It has subsequently recieved a number of scratches. The worst of which are on the topstrap in the Matte Finish area. You can't really just buff those out. I suggested that he contact Colt and see how much to have them give it a once over. He responded by asking how much, if any, the collectors value would be affected. I'm wasn't really sure but I figured it might be worth asking here. My uneducated opinion was: since it is has been a shooter and not unique as Pythons go, sending it to Colt for a refinish shouldn't really matter much. It might even help. Opinions?
