Shot a big boar with the .54 caliber muzzleloader last evening: Distance was about 35 yards. Hog went down, jumped off and took off. He never went far with holes in both lungs.
These guys were taken in the dense woods of Texas a combination of traps and night vision. The hog by my name was taken at dusk with a Handi Rifle in 300 Blackout, one 125 gr. pill in his chest was all it took. Some of the others fell to my Ruger American Ranch in 300 BO.

On Labor Day we, my neighbors and I, put all or part of 11 hogs in our deep freezes.
