Somehow, the idiocy of it all astounds me. B.O. should

be kissing the asses of the folks he's trying to eliminate,

because firearms, ammo, and accessory sales, and the

jobs and security they create are one of the very few

bright spots of his dismal economy.

As to WHY? Possibly because the leader of the most powerful country in

the world doesn't want open arms sales to his citizens by the

largest country in the world? Anybody?

I'm not going to lie I really didn't understand what it was saying but I'm guessin it was saying that russian ammo can't be imported into the US anymore?

Or any Russian guns, well some of them(Saiga's can be imported but I think thats because they alter the guns and make them into ''sporting rifles''.
Im going to sound like a game nerd but after seeing the mp412 rex in battlefield I thought it was cool looking so I looked it up on google and came to this
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MP412_REX
After reading it I found out that this trade agreement wrecked the production of this revolver, if you go to google images you'll see it looks awesome! lol but anyway, I am waiting for C3 to comment, seems like he would know alot more about the trade agreement then me.

It looked like 7.62x25 ammo was the only one prohibited. That sucks though.

They don't trade in small arms because they agreed not to. The driving force was the American gun makers who suffered from inexpensive Russian and Chinese imports.

Whatever that trade agreement was or was supposed to be, there are an awful lot of Russian guns and ammunition in this country with more coming in every day.

Folks, as I understand it, the firearms listed in Annex "A" can be exported to the United States as per this statement:

"The Government of the Russian Federation shall not allow the exportation from the Russian Federation, destined to the United States, of the following firearms and ammunition:

    (a) any firearm, including any new model firearm, except a firearm described in Annex A to this Agreement;" (see list below).

    ANNEX A

Firearms Permitted to Be Imported into the United States from the Russian Federation

    Pistols/Revolvers

    1. German Model P08 Pistol

    2. IZH 34M, .22 caliber Target Pistol

    3. IZH 3 5M, .22 caliber Target Pistol

    4. Mauser Model 1896 Pistol

    5. MC-57-1 Pistol

    6. MC-1-5 Pistol

    7. Polish Vis Model 35 Pistol

    8. Soviet Nagant Revolver

    9. TOZ 35,.22 caliber Target Pistol

    Rifles

    1. BARS-4 Bolt Action Carbine

    2. Biathlon Target Rifle, .22LR caliber

    3. British Enfield Rifle

    4. CM2,.22 caliber Target Rifle (also known as SM2,.22 caliber)

    5. German Model 98K Rifle

    6. German Model G41 Rifle

    7. German Model G43 Rifle

    8. IZH-94

    9. LOS-7 Bolt Action Rifle

    10. MC-7-07

    11. MC-18-3

    12. MC-19-07

    13. MC-105-01

    14. MC-112-02

    15. MC-113-02

    16. MC-115-1

    17. MC-125/127

    18. MC-126

    19. MC-128

    20. Saiga Rifle

    21. Soviet Model 38 Carbine

    22. Soviet Model 44 Carbine

    23. Soviet Model 91/30 Rifle

    24. TOZ 18,.22 caliber Bolt Action Rifle

    25. TOZ 55

    26. TOZ 78

    27. Ural Target Rifle, .22LR caliber

    28. VEPR Rifle

    29. Winchester Model 1895, Russian Model Rifle

The ammo that cannot be imported into the United States is as follows: "7.62X25mm caliber (also known as 7.63X25 mm caliber or.30 Mauser)" Which I am not familiar with any weapon that uses that type of ammo.

If someone else wants to read the agreement just to verify my reading, please do.

People don't realize the AWB was not about gun control, it was about market control. Before the AWB I used to go buy cases of SKS rifles so cheap I could sell them for $50 each and turn a decent profit. The man that was importing the SKS rifles made billions in his barn. He is one of the richest people in the state of VA. When he was selling all these rifles there was a line of trucks and trailers at least a mile long waiting to buy rifles.

The AWB has expired but none of the laws controlling trade with Russia and China have expired. Why do you think Ruger supported the AWB? It's hard to sell a Mini 30 when you can buy an SKS for $50 or an AK for $100. I am sure the Russians and Chinese were killing the sales of many other models made by American manufacturers.

I for one like the durability of the Soviet made/designed weapons and unless the Zombie Apocalypse happens, I have plenty of ammo to last a while. :D
In fact, the only American Made firearm that I have is my Mossberg. :)

7.62x25mm is what the tokarev tt33 pistols and the CZ52 pistols shoot. It gives a really good flash. I usually use Sellior & Bellot ammo in my CZ52.

Does anyone know why 7.62x25 is banned from import? Seems silly.
