Axxe55 and I discussed about getting together for a Meet & Greet/fun shoot, and we were wondering if anyone else would be interested in getting together.

He said that we could get access to a private range in Buffalo,Tx (Right off I-45).

I'd like to get some feedback from guy's/gal's that would like to do this, and then we could get working on this.
I have a screwed up work schedule, and would be able to do this on the following weekends.
    July 27-28
    Aug 31-Sept 1 - Labor day weekend
    Sept 7-8

If you would like to attend, help choose a date, and we will get rolling on this.

It has been too long since we had a meet & greet around here, although we will never be able to top the 1st one held by Lonyaeger. He hosted the ultimate Meet & Greet a few years ago,and we will never come close to that thing.
But,we will give it a hell of a try!

Come on guy's/gal's,let's get together and have a blast!!!!

Just mapped it and thats a 7 hour and 15 minute non stop drive for me. Sounds like fun, if only I was a bit closer......

Oh, come on. Don't be a weenie. I'm driving 8 hours to attend the Shoot and Hoot in Missouri on October 5th. I'm making a weekend trip out of it. Think of it as a weekend getaway with some shooting fun and camaraderie thrown in.

Hillbilly, as you and i discussed earlier about this, i am very interested in doing this. and would enjoy meeting some members of forum.

the gun range is a private one called Leon County Gun Range, it's owned by Buffalo Sporting Goods and is loacated outside of Buffalo going towards Oakwood. it's about 6-7 miles from Buffalo. it has a pistol range and up to a 200 yard rifle range. when we finalize a date, i will be more than happy to make arrangements with the owner of the gun store for use of the range. plus if we need more ammo, it's not too far to go get more!

most any weekend is pretty much available for me as i don't usually work weekends much any more and even if i have to work, i would be finished up by about noon or so.

if anyone is interested in spending the night, my stepson works at one of themotel in Palestine andi could probably get them a decent rate on a room. and Palestine does have a few decent places to eat as well.

looking forward to this and the more the merrier! feel free to PM me if you have any questions. i will stay in touch with Hillbilly and see about helping getting this going.

It's a good drive from H-Town, but I'd show up.

Pistol shoot, rifle shoot, or both (my personal preference)? What type of private range is it?

July might be a little busy for me. My work takes me all over the US, but I'd block off a weekend to do this.

August or September might be better. Maybe the heat will relent a little if we wait until September. Then again, maybe not.

even though I can't attend this, I am strongly encouraging those who can to make it a point to go. I have met and shot with several members here and it was more fun than I ever thought. There are some truly incredible people on this forum who have a lot of knowledge to share and it is well worth the effort to get out there, drive a ways and meet them.

For some reason I missed this thread. I will look at my schedule and let y'all know. Looking forward to seeing our very own Hillbilly again.

We need a near by hotel to have a place to take the meet and greet into the evening and perhaps the next day. Is there anything in Buffalo? It has been years since I was in that area. Madisonville? Huntsville?

Robo, there are about 3-4 in Buffalo right around the interstate. there are about 8-9 in Palestine which is about 35 miles away and there are about 5-6 in Fairfield up the interstate about 20 miles.

it's about 170 or so miles for me, so if I'm free, I'll defiantly try to make it. July is probably best for me, August should be ok, but I'm not sure about September yet.

Like I said, it has been a while. When I was at SHSU (79-84) Buffalo was a bump in the road

I'll probably stay in Fairfield,Tx. There are several Hotels there within walking distance of Sam's Restaurant.
They have very good food-Home Cooking at it's best!

Robo,it will be good to see you again, also!
It's been too long since we had a get together, too bad all the old members that were at the 1st one aren't around anymore.
I'm going to call Lon and let him know about it,but I don't know if he will come.
