Well I just got a letter from some collection agency about a book I got last year from National Geographic. To be honest I totally forgot about it. I still have the original invoice for the free trial. Well is there any way I can send the book back even though I received it on May 22, 2012? I don't even have a subscription anymore, it expired in January.

Those companies live for this kind of situation.

They know the average Joe is too busy and pre-occupied

dealing with life, work, and family to jump thru all the hoops

of their "special offer", and eventually you will overpay them to

go away, when the situation balloons out of hand.

Lesson learned. Pay the man, and move on.

Ok thanks for the quick feedback. Wasn't happy with national geographic anyway. They didn't even send me my wall map:p Haha, plus they were too liberal and hippyish for my taste.

Haha. I have a few of the older ones from the 50s and seeing the Coca-Cola and car ads just give off this great feeling of nostalgia. I also have a computer-related issue from 1979 I think, just seeing how far we've come in just 30+ years amazes me.

Oh, ho, man, do I ever.

    Back before the earth's crust

cooled, I had an 8-track player in

my Buick. IIRC, gas was @.67 a

    gallon.

IIRC, there is some law out there that says that if you receive a book in the mail like that, it's considered a gift and therefore yours. If you didn't order the book, then tell them that they can have it back when they pay the shipping.

How much is the bill? I wonder if it is even worth their pursuit.

$36, huh? You should pay it. But, I don't think it's worth the postage to collect.

I just called and the lady at customer service said they can take it back. A shipping label should be here by Friday!
