I was thinking and thought I would throw up a poll.
So, who do you think was the best?
Where's "Honey" Roy Palmer?
Not in my poll.
That's Gunny Foley.
Great question to which I have no answer. But I used to know Benny "The Jet" and he was an amazing fighter.
Did he have electric boots, a mohair suit? I thought I read it in a magazine.
Not on the list! Lyoto Machida, I have no doubt!!
I voted "beer".
No Ali? no Tyson? This poll is flawed! Where's the beer option!?!
I reject this list as it contains NO Grapplers.
Ali vs. Inoki??
Boring as hell fight, but it proved a point. A boxer is not equipped to deal with a grappler.
I would have to put Matt Hughes at the head of the list, in several weight classes, in his prime. Hughes was the G.O.A.T. Of MMA for a long time and he was the only champion of recent record to CALL OUT his number one contender.
In this day and age??
There is no answer for Jake Shields and Jon Jones.
This was an experiment about Karate competitors. Maybe I should have phrased the question differently.
I took for granted the fact the maybe with the list of fighters I picked, it would lead people to realize that. So, I choose Beer also.
The Superfoot, without a doubt.
Norris was great, no doubt, but capitalized on the fact that the majority of fighters at the time were Japanese stylists, and had never seen some of the things he was doing.
Lewis was a greasy fast bear, but would basically stuff guys in a corner and brawl.
The Jet had crazy heart, and would fight anybody, anywhere, any time.
But Wallace, the man was simply incapable of being defeated. He'd tell you where he was going to kick you, and do it, and you would not stop it.
The man ate Wendy's, and then immediately went in and won a championship fight.
And his mitts are enormous.
No critique of The Dragon.
I like beer.
He was an actor who just happened to have a couple of fights.
Yeah, the Bum.
I have to agree with you on Mr. Wallace. Here are my top two in the ring. Watch the kicks. Plain awesome.

You want a grappler? Here you go,

Not the fight when he lost the nut, eh?
When it rolled out of his pantleg, it became Chuck Norris.
