I vote for CZ 1st, Savage 2nd. I have both, in .17HMR, and 22 MAG. I also had the 77/22, in 22 LR. very nicely made gun, (with a few WTF?"s), but so far, I have not been able to get it to shoot. I will be spending some time with it this summer. I cannot let it go, and have had it for a long time, but I would not go back and buy it again.

The Ruger Precision Rimfire in 22 mag is the most accurate rimfire I have ever seen, period. They come with a 15 round magazine. I have put 15 rounds in one hole no bigger that one round would make. at 50 yards. I have a 4 x 16 x 50 on mine. You can shoot the eyebrows of a knat as far as you can seen one, from a led sled or similar.

The 22 mag was not thought as an accurate round forever. Today the ammo and guns have caught up. It is not handy like a lever gun or bolt gun and weight 7 pounds but perfect in shooting that round.

Winchester used to make a really nice lever action 22 mag. I wish I had bought one.

Lot of us wish we had bought a Winchester 22m when they were on the market. Not sure it is the best, but the Henry Golden Boy in 22 mag is as accurate and smooth operating as any lever gun I have ever touched. The downside, is they are so purdy, you do not want to take them outside.
