Real and a piece of trash. I've handled one at a flea market when I was a kid. Even then I could feel that my NERF gun was of better quality. They are rare, probably due to their durability. I would buy one these days as an interesting conversation piece, but I would never shoot it.

The one I handled was labeled as a flare gun, but the seller said it was a 20 gauge. Flares don't come in that size do they?
