I cant get 9mm, 38 Special, 357 Mag, 380, 22LR, and now .223/5.56. I bought 1500 9mm, 1000 45acp 1000 40, 1500 .223. And its GONE!!! I only have half my .45, and Half my 40 left! I wish I was big enough to buy more but I can't do it. Anyway, I know it seems I got my 9mm .233 etc, but the 38 and the .357 have been non existant! The .380 is gone. I'm just venting. It's hard to be a dealer, and not have ammo to sell with the handguns.

Uh, have you looked in the Ammo section of FTF?

This could be a hint if you are looking for it in the NFA/Class 3 & FFL Discussion that maybe you are looking in the wrong places.

    I couldn't resist a little sarcarsm

    You shoot guns too much.

Seriously, all common caliber ammo is in good supply, except maybe the 22 Magnum. The prices are higher than ever, that's another matter. Same with the gasoline. Check out Lucky Gunner and other Web vendors.

I live in the same state, not terribly far from W Lafayette. If there were a true shortage, as a retail customer I'd be the first to know. I hope it's an occasional dry spell for one of our valued FFL's.

Well from a standpoint of my suppliers, 9mm has be allocated or on back-order since the beginning of the year. And, 380 ACP I have not been able to get ANY. .233 5.56 is much better, and I am able to get up to 100,000 rounds. 357 mag? Well that is always usually allocated, and out of stock by mid-day when it becomes available. I was able to get 1.500 FMJ's last week. 45ACP and 40 S+W are always available. 38 special, well I had a shot at a huge stock order, waited too long and now....now anything in the 17-19.00$ a box range is unavailable.

Wallyworld must have bought it all. The one here in Stockton, Ca. has 38spl, 380, 9mm, 40, and several others. But they don't have anything now in 7.62x39 or 9x18 Mak. The last 7.62x39 I bought was a couple of months ago from them for I think $5.15 or $5.45 for 20 rnds

Where I am at reloading supplies are slim to none. Even the black powder is hard to come by.

The other day I went to a number of the big box stores and few mom and pop shops. The shelves are empty.

Sportsman's Warehouse has their shipment on Friday and lately the shipment has been a case here and there. Nothing else!

They must be exporting it all, I have no problem getting ammo in the UK ironically a lot of it from American manufacturers.

Walley World, Bass pro, Cabalas , and the government buys so much ammo that the LGS, the good guys as I would say it always are put on the back burner because they don't buy in large Bulk. this is what's truely called screwing the small businessman not only on ammo but guns also and other merchandise.

you can thank all the big companies like this, especially Walley World for building a Damn Wal-mart in every freakin town in America.

It is socialism working its way up and some people don't even realize it.

    Freakin Communist! end of Rant!

I saw that Rio Rancho had one last year when I was looking at some acreage near there, and it showed a list of businesses available in Rio Rancho.
I don't buy much at Wallyworld though, I hate the crowds!

The Lawton Walmart off 67 St. has all the calibers mentioned in the OP, in large quantities. So does the Lawton Academy store.

Just the opposite. Unregulated capitalism produces monopolies. The big guy wins. The small guy gets forced out of business. The US got rid of many safeguards and we are moving back to the robber baron days.

There is a difference between capitalism and free enterprise. Pure capatilism concentrates wealth in the hands of only a few. The Depression era laws that made the middle class so strong in the 40s, 50s and 60s are gone now.

The sporting clays club I belong to has an FFL. Our orders are spotty and unpredictable. We might not get ammo for a month then a box van pulls up out of the blue with all our ammo and components. We have a meeting where everyone places their orders and pays for their order. We used to get the order within a week. Usually we have 30 people ordering plus ammo for the clubhouse. All of us putting our money together makes it go a lot further.

I stopped into Sportsman's Warehouse this afternoon, holy crap the pistol ammo was empty; except for the self-defense and that was bleak!

The rifle and shotgun ammo was full.
