What's your price??

Assuming that you already have a tier one AR, how low would the price have to go before you would buy another one for a spare???

If tier ones come down to ~$1500, I'll probably get another Colt, or a full length 20" LM&T.

What's your price point????:p

Well the day after Sandy Hook I saw a Colt 6920 at my Walmart for $1097 but passed on it. Sometimes I kick myself then other times rationalize that I did put together two Tier 1 ARs last year (anticipating that it could get difficult after a BHO re-election). I also stockpiled .22LR, .223/5.56, 9mm and 40S&W but wish I had got even more.

I don't know, I probably won't buy another AR unless prices come way down. If that happens I'll get another complete upper for a lonely lower I have.

I bought my Delton for $700 and love it. There are many other firearms I want first before getting a second AR...especially at these insane prices. But to answer your question...$800.

Every walmart that sells Colts, sells them for $1097. Easy enough getting one from them at that price if you want one, or another one. Hit the sporting goods counter each day at 7am till they put one out.

S&W makes very nice AR's, IMHO, but I have not seen a .22 except for videos. However, if I drag home another AR, I need to have my head examined. I have plenty. The Colt .22 was a surprise. Not planned. Walking through a box store, looking for ammo, and there it was. To rationalize the purchase, I made it pink for my wife. More money wasted. lol

I sold my used $900 DPMS for $1600 ($1435 to me after consignment fee), to build the following gun for under $1300:

Noveske Lower
PSA 16" upper, MI handguard
M16 BCG, BCM gunfighter CH, MBUS flip sights
PSA/Magpul STR lower build kit

Whether that's a "tier 1" gun or not is in the eye of the beholder I suppose. Probably it's a "1.5". Once I add a Vortex Sparc, it'll be a pretty even money swap for the DPMS funds. So all that really matters to me is that I substantially upgraded for free. Some of my stuff is still in the UPS system, will get a pic of the build up in a couple weeks.

All of the build has been purchased over the last 3 weeks. So the point is, good stuff can be had at fair prices even now. But you've got to know where to look and it doesn't sit on the virtual shelves for very long.

I don't really see the need to have a second lower, but I do want a spare upper and another spare bolt carrier (already have one spare). I think it's more important to have spare optics and weapon lights than a spare carbine, but to each his own. I'm more concerned about ammunition at this point than anything else.

If I can acquire another Colt upper with a pencil barrel for around $700 or so, I'll get another. I won't pay any more for an AR than what a Colt costs at retail.

I paid right around 1000 for my all bcm middy with the bhf lightweight upper. Only thing would be to expand on spare parts.

I wouldnt buy another ar15 as ive got my bases covered. Wife has a bcm she loves ive got a precision ar15 and a match grade A2 and bringing up the rear a colt sp1.

Very smart upgrade Sweeper! I dunno, those components sound pretty darn Tier 1 to me! Sounds like the perfect reason for breaking the rule of not giving up the bird in hand to get the two in the bush. Now if those little birdies just come flying in over the next weeks! :D
