It used to be that we would be in the freezing range from late November through Jan., Every few years we would get hard freezes lasting up to a week, but in the last ten years or so we have had very little cold weather. I judge it by how many times we have to scrape ice off the windshield of the car, last year was only three or four times. Usually a sweat shirt, or an unlined denim jacket will suffice to keep an old man warm.

Dang, but I am loving this pistol. (H&K P30 V1 Lite LEM 9mm.)

So very easy to use. So easy to manipulate the controls. (Old hand injuries and smaller finger reach requires that feature.) So easy to rack the slide. Goes "bang" every single time; at least, so far (~100rds).

Compared to a CZ 2075 RAMI 9mm I've had, the RAMI was darned near impossible for me to reliably operate the slide or controls. (Which kills it, as an effective defensive sidearm, at least IMO.) Very heavy force required to rack the slide. Very stiff controls, at least until well broken-in.

Only downside, and a minor one at that: the plastic used on the HK P30 is, like the P2000, rather hard and slick. IMO, the grippiness of the texture of the lightly stippled surface of the grip area isn't sufficient. Might well do a light DIY stippling job on the grip, at some point. Changed out the swappable backstrap and grip panels, for improved grip. But a stouter stippling pattern will likely help quite a bit, of course at the cost of tearing up the shirts a bit more.

I'd forgotten the great amount of take-up travel on the trigger that H&K's "LEM" system uses. Once the take-up's gotten used to, it's hard not to like the lightweight, consistent trigger pull. Just a bit of almost-undetectable grit and grabbiness (on the trigger), in this one, which I suspect will soon smooth out with use. The "Lite" version of the LEM is nice.

And swallows every type of ammo it sees.

Fantastic pistol. Three thumbs up. Absolutely.

Ran the FNX pretty rough yesterday.~400 rounds
    Ran very well
Mama's hands dont fit it so well. She was running a G19 for the first time (200rounds)
She developed a hot-spot on her thumb joint as the pistol rocked back.
I may end up getting her an FN509

What reviews I've seen, found many Failure to feed, and failure to eject. When I read about the CP33 reviews, it seems more reliable (and accurate).

The CP33 looks like it needs a brace and I think someone came out with one. That mag looks like a nightmare to load. Belt fed!

Maybe, if you held it by the muzzle and gripped it like a fast ball. ;)

I’ve decided that my next purchase is gonna be a CZ75- even before I get the 300 win mag I want to get. I decided that since I already have a 270- I can kill anything in the state of Maine- granted, I’d rather have the 300 win mag for a moose, but a 270 will take any moose in the lower 48 no problem. What I don’t have is anything in the same category as a CZ75. I only have 4 handguns- Ruger Super Blackhawk, Ruger EC9S, 1851 Navy black powder, and a double-stack subcompact (don’t yell at me for this) 1911. I want the P-01. It’s small enough that you can carry it if you need something with a bit more capacity than they EC9S, but big enough that it feels comfortable in my fairly large hands. Plus it’s a [email protected]$$ gun F5D294CC-81EF-4AED-95E0-099B4EC6D259.jpeg

Uncertain if you've ever heard of the competitive shooter Angus Hobdell or the shop CZ Custom (out in AZ), but it's a vendor worth checking out if looking for "that special" CZ.

Those are some pretty awesome guns- especially the 10mm 97’s. But the prices almost made me throw up. I can imagine spending $3000 on a handgun unless it also cooks, cleans, and I can drive it to work.

Yeah, I'd want it to do a whole lot more than that, as well.

What was the quip from the 2007 film The Bucket List?

Carter: What is that contraption you got over there?
Edward: It's a siphon. Makes coffee.
Carter: What else does it do?
Edward: What else does it have to do?

We have a fusion 9mm at work that I've been eyeing for awhile, however so many other things need to come first, I picked up a CZ 97BD to be sent off for a 10MM conversion.

The other gun I'm really wanting to getting, the Sig 320 legion, that thing just fits my hand so nicely.
