Six in a Bearcat.
I’m going with a Rock Island 1911 9mm and a Colt 1911 in 45 acp.... now the hard part..... FINDING THEM
I have my LGS looking out for the cobalt blue Wrangler.
Thinking about a 7.62x39 upper to diversify my AR. Or maybe Grendel.
I hope to give myself a CZ Shadow 2 Orange for Christmas or shortly thereafter! Merry Christmas to me!
I just obtained a brand new M60 LE sales gun yesterday to carry with my 442.
Probably won’t carry full house 357 loads in it, but the option to do so is good.
I am interested in an FN Five-Seven. However, being such a tight wad, it may be a while, and something different will probably catch my eye before then. Most of the pistols and revolvers I own found me rather than me finding them.
Maybe the new Ruger 57 is an option?
Thanks for that suggestion. I had not considered that one, but it certainly has a price that feels better to my old Scottish heart! I am taking four handguns to the local Pawn shop tomorrow for consignment sales. That could finance the Ruger instantly.
Oh crap, You’re Scottish too?
Gonna buy Mrs. Righty’s Ruger p95 cause she doesn’t like it. I sold mine and then regretted doing so. Solid good functioning pistol with so so sights.
Scott/German. My Scott ancestry was easier to trace, back to a fellow known as Sven Skullcrusher, a Scottish Viking. It explains why I sometimes have the overwhelming urge to rape a nun, burn a monastery and impale small children on a pike. Not a character flaw, mind you, just genetics.
My Scotts came here in 1740, but they married other Scotts until after the Civil War when we branched out a little. My German/American Grandmother was born to German Parents in Wyoming, on a wagon train headed for California. She always referred to herself as Pennsylvania Dutch, probably as a result of the issues of being German during both World Wars.
So, I went and found a pretty good video of the comparison of the two pistols, and for about half the money the Ruger looks like an excellent choice. This video is worth watching if you have any interest in the 5.7 platforms. Again, thanks for the suggestion.
Good luck with your sale!
Thank You! If there has ever been a time to thin the collection, it is now.
My Scott’s came over in 1771
Clan Gunn here.
This is the real name of Sven Skullcrusher. He is reputed to be the family founding father, but I can't say for sure, I was too young when he was pillaging.
It seemed like a viable option at a better price. Hope it all works out for you with your sales and finding the 57. It would be great to hear some good feedback on the Ruger 57 from you.
