I wanna know what the max effective range for a win 270 cal rifle
Look here Rifles / 270 Winchester
What you shootin at such a range?
Bout that far.
How fast can you run?
Seriously though, the rem .270 makes for an exellent long shot deer rifle that
will easily get the job done a "click away" or better! (It just hurts like heck to
use one) & I'd rather sneak up a little closer to use my win .308! Kind of like
using a .44 rem mag that "lifts me off the ground" when I fire one! I will stick
with a .45 lc as my choice for a large caliber handgun!
Are you serious 1097 meters sounds a little to far but i might be wrong thats why im asking the question
Geez!! Click on the link!!

The maximum effective range is how far YOU can shoot it accurately under actual field conditions. That's usually a lot less range than most people think it is. If you can't hit it reliably you're beyond your effective range. In terms of it still having enough energy to cleanly harvest game I'd say around 500-550 yards.
"Your milage may vary"!
SB does state a good point about "in field use"! Shooting paper targets are
most commonly done on a bench or even off the hood of a p/up truck with
a pillow or blanket as a rest. My (actual longest in field shot) was in 1995
with open sights on my Win mdl 70 in .308win @ about 440 yards. Next year,
I mounted a 3x9x44mil Simmons scope to the gun with "see-thru" scope
mounts... but as "fate would have it", (or Im getting even better @ sneaking-
up on them). I have not had the chance to use the scope for a kill! The last
buck I harvested was only about 50 feet away & the last elk I killed was
about 100 yards away! Back then, I wanted a laser rangefinder real bad... but
now I have no need for one since most of my kills have been at close range!
Depending on your particular load the bullet should stay super sonic, and thus stable, out around 1200yds with enough energy to ruin your day.
Heres a look at what I'm shooting for when I start loading for my .270:
Are you talking about tactical or for hunting? It takes a hellova shot to make a 1,200 yard shot. Not many are that good. Also a .270 don't make for a good tactical round due to lack of good bullet selection for that purpose.
