What is the biggest caliber you have shot?
"0 " gauge punt gun. 50bmg in a rifle. 50ae in a pistol. Bigger isn't necessarily better, just check my hearing loss in the right ear, due to puntgun...
MK 19 belt fed automatic grenade launcher.
Largest caliber fired from the shoulder?
90 mm. M67 Recoilless Rifle, fires a 6.5 lb anti-tank shell, good to about 400 meters. You had BETTER have your earplugs in!
45. auto or 45/70 government, but the most powerful caliber I have shot is a 375 Holland. I'll stick to the smaller ones for me, thank-you very much.
As far as conventional rifles. The Seal Team's 50 Ca. BMG Sniper Rifles. Both the McMillan Bolt and Barrett Semi Auto.
Hunting rifle the 458 LOTT Bad A** round since the rifle does not weigh as much. Wouldn't want to take it target shooting!!!!!
M203 40 mm grenade launcher. It was attached to an M16A1. I was in Basic Training at the time.
It was a .458 Win Mag. Don't remember the make of the rifle. I was just getting ready to tuck the butt tight against my shoulder when it went off. It was 45 years ago and it still hurts to think about it. To this day I remember that rifle going off before I was ready and to this day I remember a painful lesson learned.
Modern 50 bmg (actually prefer the bushmaster over the Barrett)
black powder 75 Cal (basically 12 gauge rb)
Pistol- .454 casull
Rifle- .338 win mag
Shotgun- 10 gauge
M110, 8in. SP............
Question for the Redlegs- did you fire that from the shoulder? (or the hip? )
not me in the pic btw just one off the interweb
Handgun: .500 Smith & Wesson, 6 inch. Only did it once to say I did. I love recoil, but that was excessive. I'll stick with my .45 ACP instead.
Long gun: .50 BMG. Less recoil than I expected, but still enough to get your attention.
Revolver: S&W .460 XVR.
Pistol: .45 1911.
Rifle: .45-70 H&R Handi Rifle.
Shotgun: 12ga 3 1/2 Magnum Remington 870.
anything, or just rifle and pistol? I have shot a 106mm recoiless rifle and a 105mm howitzer. That count? Both were on wheels. with the 106 you had better have ear protection, and your nuts cupped in your hand.
my father once many, many years ago had an old SXS 10 ga. shotgun. that shotgun killed on one end and injured on the other!
Pistol - 44 Mag
Rifle - 458 Win Mag
Shotgun - 12 GA
