what's the best barrel length for a sporting clay shotgu

    Whats the best barrel length for a sporting clay shotgun?

    more barrel = more weight =slower swing,,, however a longer barrel is tighter shot patterns , i think its a personal shooter preference. try out a few and decide for your self , some gun clubs rent em out , try as many as you need till you find your baby .

    I did not read the whole nine yards of this thread. But 28 '' is the norm. I assume it's a 28 gauge O@U......:)

    Longer barrel = smoother swing I think you'll find...

    probaly right auslach but its all about what the shooter wants ,, i like em alittle shorter and with a wider pattern ,, so its all about shooter prefrence.

    With the way I've been shooting lately I'd say 30 yards would be optimal!
