Rev, do you mean 3x9x40? Don't scrimp on the optics. Nikon and Leupold make nice scopes starting at around $200.00. I prefer the optics on my Leupold over my Nikon. This is a matter of personal preference. It is better to save your money and buy a quality scope rather buying cheaper scopes that you are not going to be satisfied with. Take it from me, I learned the hard way. Shoot Straight and Be Safe, Hunter Joe

Having been an Leupold man for YEARS, they're still great scopes as long as you stick with vx2, or better yet, vx3. However, the zeiss conquest 3x-9x-40mm at about 450$ and has the best optics I've ever seen (even better than Leupold) unless you go with MEGABUCK scopes. The cheapest scopes I've tried that I would even put on an hunting rifle is the Nikon prostaff 3x-9x-40mm for about 150$. Burris fullfield 2 and bushnell elite 3200 are both good choices as well for about 200$.
