Found a Norinco paratrooper. I would describe it as Very Good condition. It's in original configuration, has matching serial numbers, but the spike bayonet is missing.
I'm just looking for some insight on how much it might be worth. I can't find many online at all.
    Thanks for any helpful info!

Gun shows, and if you're lucky you can find a good one at a pawn shop for around $299

    Well, I don't think so Tim........... ;)

You might find one, but the gun shows around here are rip offs. I go to see what the people walking around are selling. The tables have used guns for retail prices anymoe!!! plus, there's three times as many gun shows as there use to be, and it's $8 to get in!

I checked the prices on gunbroker and it looks like they've been selling on there for $400 and up.

The Norinco's longer cousin is selling for what you are saying though. This is the 16.5" paratrooper.

I got the cousin with the ~22" barrel. IIRC, it was $325 in good, non-original condition (ramline monte carlo stock) but with all matching parts.

From what i recall from my looking for that cousin, Goju is about right; there is lots of talk of $300 paratroopers, but they were scarce like hens' teeth when i was looking. I think i saw one snapped up on TFL or some forum, but it didn't make two days.

I like the longer barrel personally.

Goju, i'm sure that you MEANT that you had TEMPORARILY removed that ayonetba for cleaning. ;)

edit* Goju, does it have the scope mount rail like the "cowboy companion"?

I went by a local shop yesterday and they had THREE paratroopers.

Two were original, but I would describe them in good condition. The bolt and stock were not in real good shape. They were $329

The other was in a tapco stock and was $275.

I was just surprised they had any at all.

    its a SKS

There was a time when my father could pick them up for 75-90 dollars but that was back when people didn't think anything of the SKS but now with everything going on the price keeps jumping and jumping we bought a good number of yugo's before they went crazy but if you look hard you can still get them for 275-350 im not a matching numbers person all i care about is that the guns work now that im of age to buy my own i bought one off my father. I mean it is what it is if you want a short assault i would just save the extra money and get a AK

Not too crazy about AK's. I'd rather have a converted SKS.

I bought the paratrooper you see here.
