I will be deer hunting in G.A in December. I was wondering if I should use my Marlin 30-30, or My Browning Grade 2 30-06. I will be hunting in light brush, and what weight of ammunition should I use?

    Thanks

The Marlin, 150 gr. will do.

I'd use the Marlin with whatever ammo it shoots most accurately in 150 or 170 grain soft point.

150gr in each will do or shoot the brand and weight you know they shoots well. Most any sp ammo will do. Take the rifle you shoot more accurately. I use a 308 in thick bottoms with a 2.5-10 power scope and am use to it and can pick a shot 100 yards off in that bottom if one is given and have shoot them with in 20 feet. Light brush might offer a 200+ yard shot too. That 30-30 maybe better if hog hunting while heading dogs but it ain't the cats butt with out some optics on it for stalk'n or stand hunting.
