G19 slim line?????? All G19's are double stack and the same width/grip girth as the G17, G22, G23, G26, G27, G37, G38, G39. The only Slimline Glock produces is a G36.

Of course I vote for the Gen4 G19.

I have the glock 19 and I'm happy with my purchase. I'd say find a place where you can shoot both and pick for yourself. Both are well made guns from respected companies.

I am heavily biased against Glock - so my vote would honestly be the XD. Then again, have you seen the 1911? :D

I'd go with the XD. I recently bought a Glock and it is growing on me a little...but I'd still take an XD over it.

I just had to make the same decision yesterday. While I really wanted to like the glock19, the Xd 9 fit my hand better and naturally pointed better. I went with the Xd.

Glock 19, Great carry piece, large enough to handle well, small enough to conceal.

If you want a 1911, VERY NICE examples can be had for under $1000. I would get one of those over an XD or a Glock.

Look at Rock Island (+/- $400) or Springfield (roughly $500-800) 1911s. Or even a Colt (3rd pic)

I have a Taurus that runs very well (after broken in) They are around $500 (last pic)
