    Space Troopers!
HaHaHa! Any way you say it's going to sound funny. I'm sure the other armed forces will find good names for them. LOL

well, I don't see why they want to do something like that, it's a$$inine

the Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) was redesignated as the Space Force and became a branch of the Armed Force. the name has changed but the personnel hasn't

so all military person that were assigned to the AFSPCand now are in that Space Force should be called what they were when it was AFSPC...……. Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines

crap, you don't call a Marine a Soldier just because he's assigned to a Army command

    yeah, "beam me too scotty"

Any military person other than a sailor is technically a soldier. In fact, Japan even called their "marines" naval infantry.

yeah, I would like to watch you explain that to a Marine that technical he's a soldier, those boys take their title of U.S. Marine to heart and soul, you can even go to say they're fanatical about that . I'll be standing by to dial 911 for you [IMG]

oh man, this came to my mind, happen long ago when I was stationed at Ft.Lewis, Wa 1979 or 80. we were at the EM club one evening and a group of Marines came in. think they were there for field exercise or something. then one of jokers in my group, and no it wasn't me, I am too smart to try anything like this.

he walked over to them, and though he would make a funny comment. at the time Marines has U.S.M.C. printed on their fatigues over the breast pocket, he unwisely said that means Uncle Sam's Misguided Children.…………….

and that is when the fight started, MPs were called, we were all hauled off, and my first article 15 for fighting [IMG]

It is going to end up a Navy. They are ships so might as well set up the command system the same as the Navy. Dont try to reinvent the wheel. The Battle Star Galectica was a battleship with carrier capabilities. Star Trek used naval ranks. In the video series The Expanse the soldiers were called Marines and the command system was Navy. What would be a term for a space marine? Of course the term Jar Head takes on a whole new meaning.

2nd Aliens movie the soldiers were called "Marines" as well so going on that plus what you posted I'd say that'll be their name at this stage.

I'd thought that, but Cadets implies something else on graduation.

When I flew a desk in the U. S. Air Force, we were all called "Airmen".
