I'm looking at getting a 1911 and I like the model in this picture. Can anyone tell me what brand and model it is ... I know it has aftermarket rosewood grips with a rubber wrap. Thanks for any and all help.

Here is the site, just enlarge the picture:

Actually I think those are Pachmayr rubber/rosewood grips. :)

Not sure on the model of the gun tho. Sure wouldn't wanna carry that around for long though!

    What model

you can zoom the pic and it says on the frame Safari something. Likely a Safari arms. Been out of business for a while. Most of the guns by them I've seen had squared trigger housings.

Thanks for correcting me on the grips, I was kinda assuming what they were. That would be so heavy and off balance with that drum. I would shoot it like it is in the picture...with the mag resting on a table haha ! I just like that its plain and black, thats pretty much what I want to buy. Does anyone know something that looks close to or very similar to that gun?
    Thanks so much :D

I found another pic of it on that site and that gun is
Serial#600820 Safari Supply Inc. Ontario CA.
However, it looks like it is a full size(5 inch barrel) 1911 clone with rosewood Pachmyer grips.
Lots of companies make 1911 clones such as:
    Springfield
    Taurus
    S&W
    Kimber
    Para Ordance.

Safari Supply is the Canadian distributor for Norinco.
