How is ‘Match’ factory ammunition made?
Is it made on the regular production line, but the components are sorted out and assembled because they happened to meet the specs exactly?
Is it made on purpose, on a separate production line, with different equipment, higher tolerances & more QC steps?
What happens to 'Match' ammunition that doesn't meet the specs? Does it go to the regular production output?

Process varies frm maker to maker, caliber to caliber- with some, it is a separate production line, tighter tolerances, greater QA inspection process. Ammo that flunks a QA inspection may be recycled, or may be routed into the "ordinary" ammo.

Nice thing is knowing what some makers did with their overruns of match ammo- and buying the brand that overruns get sent to. Very good, very cheap.

You "assume" it means a high-quality bullets and tighter control over the powder charge.
However, it does not "assume" that you will get match accuracy out of your over-the-counter gun.
Often, in the world of .22LR, I have gotten best accuracy from cheap ammo.
