I don't have a "go" bag or a BOB. However, as my office is 65 miles away from where I live, I have a "get home" bag. I'm can't remember everything in there; however, the main items are:

    First aid kit
    PSK
    Fire starting kit
Cold Steel SRK OR Blackjack Model 5 (depending on if we're talking my car bag or my truck bag.
    Gerber OR Leatherman multi-tool.
    Wind-up flashlight/radio combo
    Mini Mag Lite
    Mylar survival blanket
    Survival Tarp
    Life Straw water filter
    Large metal cup
    Plastic water bottle
    Coffee filters
    Plastic zip lok bags
    Rope
    Insect Repellant
    Sun screen
    Wire
    Fencing pliers
    Leather gloves
    Bandana
    Some more misc. stuff.

I have decided that in my situation I am bound to have enough time to put together a bag at the last hour. I am a prepper, in general, and so have everything I could need (within reason). I'll just pack it if Mt. Hood decides to start fuming.

I plan on bugging IN with my family. It is much safer here than up in the mountains or something.

In my opinion, survival is much more about a mindset and a lifestyle than a comprehensive list of gear.

A very comprehensive collection sir. I to have a life straw and its awesome. Easy to clean and has actually worked for me in the past. Even though it wasn't a survival situation I was just testing it :).

You are right sir. I believe your mindset and know how and it training is the key to staying alive. The gear is more for saving energy and being more efficient at daily task. Survival is one of the things I advise on an let me tell you that a man with a plan is a man with a brain. You always have to consider the most primary needs you have. You can live roughly 11 days without food maybe even 14 but water and morale are two of the three most important things. I like your answer sir

By the way good for you for being a prepper. My wife and I have started our " stock" if you will and I enjoy gathering things and teaching her about long term survival strategy and technique

My go bag is a 5.11 24 Rush pack containing:
    3 MREs,
    Quick Clot and Tourniquet
    Two power bars
    Water purifying tablets
    Toiletries
    Change of clothes and thermals
    2 flares
    2 Glock Mags
    Flashlight
    Coleman stove
    Para cord
    Plastic sheet
    Rubber gloves
    Matches
    Small Gerber machete
    Chalk and Sharpies
    $100 in 5s and $10 in quarters.

This stays in my truck. I always have the Glock on me, but if the SHTF I'd be grabbing this and my war bag.

Hell ya man! I am a Glock man all the way as well. I had never thought about carrying cash in my bag tho. Seems like that could come in handy when you reach civilization again or in a war situation.
