The ruger mark 1 2 and 3 all look similar to the Japanese Nambu pistols. The rugers even use a similar method of cocking the gun as the nambus

Welcome to FTF. Sounds like you're looking for a ruger Sr22.

There are several makers of 1911 pistols that are chambered in 22lr.

If you want a good reliable pistol thats a lot fun to shoot . I would suggest the Ruger sr 22. The price is right in the mid 300's.

My son and I were just shooting his Sig Mosquito. I think it meets your needs.

I bought the Browning Buckmark Practical with the URX grips and I love it!! I put on a picatinny rail by tactical solutions and then topped it off with a Tasco Red Dot (I know it's not a great red dot, I just wanted to see if I would like it. I do!) tactical solutions also makes a replacement barrel that has the ability to have a muzzle brake put on so there is almost no recoil. This will be my next step.

I know I'm late to the party but is that honestly your real question? Amazing and looks bad ***.....in the personal protection area?

How about function? Reliability, durability, accuracy....do any of those concern you? Perhaps I'm missing your definition of "amazing" and "bad ***" but aren't their more important things to consider?

Are you sure you want a 22 to defend yourself with? There are numerous options that many would agree would be better.
